Belief, Religion and People

Belief sets the outlook and approach one would take in course of an action. For example, a person who believes that there is no hope left in life commits suicide. Religion on the other hand, is typically set of beliefs and rituals which define it. It is common for people to ascribe to a religion but not believe in some or all of it's belief. Religion identifies perhaps the pool of people you are likely to interact with, although belief when openly expressed forces stronger identity among its adherents and defines their collective course of action. This emphasizes importance of having correct belief, as it determines the goal a person would pursue, approach one would take and ultimately determine success and failure.

Belief which distinguishes people, essentially relates to unseen and the greatest unseen, which none can deny is Allah سبحانه و تعالى, Creator of heavens and the earth; other one being life after death. Correct belief about these causes a person to strive in prayer and charity. But if belief in Allah and life after death is corrupt or lacking, then corresponding actions will also be corrupt. In order for belief in unseen to be correct, information about it must be coming from Allah سبحانه و تعالى, One Who knows all things - seen and unseen.

People are broadly of three types with regards to the correct belief:

First are those who believe in Allah, pray to Him and give from their wealth, believe in all the revelations sent by Allah to mankind and believe in life after death. These are one are rightly guided and will be successful.

Second are those who reject it and disbelieve in it. It is as if their hearts and ears are sealed, and have been blinded by glitters of life - now they don't understand. These are promised great torment.

And last are those who profess belief in Allah and life after death, but in reality they do not believe in it. They lie and try to deceive those around them, but they deceive none save themselves. For them is a painful torment.

May Allah make us of the rightly guided and successful.

O Devotee of The Christ!

O devotee of The Christ! We have question, (1) seeking answer from one with comprehension. When God died, by deeds of a nation... they put him to death! What God is this, then? Did it please him, with him, what they had done? If they did please him, for them is good news, then! And if they displeased him, with what they had done... their might prevailed over his, then?! The Listener, The Answer-er of invocation... Without God, did continue the creation? Did cease...

At least don't lie to your kids!

Ever heard a kid argue that 'Tooth Fairy' or 'Santa Claus' are real - because their parents said so? This is the pure nature on which Allah has created the humanity- they don't know of lying and deception. They trust their parents and are certain that they will not lie to them. Contrast that to the behavior of parents who assume that it's acceptable to lie to kids because they are kids ! Some even play tricks with them - like replacing tooth with a coin under the pillow while they are asleep  - enforcing false belief in them. How wrong would it be, if someone (other than your kid) trusted you with the same level of trust and you deceived them? Your kids have more right that you be truthful to them. It is important for a Muslim to be truthful, as it is the essence of all goodness. If we are not truthful with even our own kids then how can we be truthful to others? If we deceive when there is little or no gain from it, then how will we...

In search of another God

Humans have been gifted with great abilities and distinct advantage over rest of the creation. In spite of innumerable favors bestowed upon them by Allah سبحانه و تعالى, humans are ever ungrateful. Not content with what they had or in search of an escape from their agonies, they turned to others whom they assumed could help. Not pleased with their Creator, they supplicated to prophets, angels, pious, dead and even animals - hoping that they may be able to intervene in the decree of Allah or if not, at least intercede with Him سبحانه و تعالى on their behalf. To please these gods and gain their favor, they worshiped them, while they never deserved worship. However, Allah - The Most Merciful - did not withdraw His blessings from humans nor did He destroy them altogether, which is easy for Him جل جلاله. Quite contrary to that, He continued to bestow upon them more favors; but very few show gratitude. ...
