Tolerance, Intolerance and Acceptance

Tolerance is being patient at things or behaviors that you don't like. For example, my neighbor kept beating drum whole night, but I tolerated it. Intolerance is the opposite - not being patient with a thing or behavior. Like one would say "I cannot tolerate that smell".

Acceptance, on the other hand, is to approve of a thing or behavior, without showing any dislike towards it.
Each of these can be good or bad depending on situation. Judge being tolerant on a murder is bad, for example.

However, when we hear of tolerance between religions or beliefs, people actually expect approval; which would mean essentially, to give up ones stand on a particular topic and agree with other and not show any dislike towards it. If this was the case then there would be no difference between them. Tolerance is to maintain a stance on a subject and disagree with others without losing patience or harming anyone.

A Muslim is required to be tolerant and patient towards others, without compromising on correct position on an issue.

In the name of Allah most beneficent, most merciful.
Say - O disbelievers! I don't worship what you worship (false deities); nor do you worship what I worship (Allah alone).
And I'm not a worshipper of what have worshipped (false deities); nor are you worshippers of what I worship (Allah alone).
For you is your religion and for me is my religion.

Marvelous Cells, Arrogant Evolutionists

Drowned in evolution stories, questions around most fundamental building blocks of life - namely Cells - are forgotten or conveniently ignored . How did the first single-celled organism originate on earth, still remains a mystery. When single-celled organisms were first discovered, it was proposed, that they were very simple collection of carbon, fluids and membrane, which could have formed by chance. It is only after immense advancement in technology, which allowed us to look deeper, that we have begun to appreciate the complexity of single celled organisms. It is now established, that the key components of a cell like DNA, RNA and Proteins, cannot form by chance or random events and that the probability of that happening is zero. DNA is made of specific proteins, intertwined and ordered in certain format to contain encoded information about various functions to be performed in the cell. RNA decodes information in DNA and provides instructions to other p...

A brief history of gods

And they said 'Never leave your gods, and never leave Wadd , nor Suwa' nor Yaghooth or Ya'ooq or Nasr '... (Al-Qur'an 71: 23) Shortly after the dawn of humanity, people were already affirming their love and allegiance to their gods, when Nooh (1) عليه السلام came to them asking to shun these gods. They enumerated their gods as an act of defiance - Wadd, Suwa', Yaghooth, Ya'ooq and Nasr . These were names of noble men who had lived before them, known for piety, loved by people and had following among them. When they died, Satan advised people to make their images and statues to remind themselves of their goodness and to motivate themselves to be like them. As generations passed, purpose of these images and statues was forgotten and the knowledge of what these noble men had preached faded away. At this point, Satan inspired people saying that ...

At least don't lie to your kids!

Ever heard a kid argue that 'Tooth Fairy' or 'Santa Claus' are real - because their parents said so? This is the pure nature on which Allah has created the humanity- they don't know of lying and deception. They trust their parents and are certain that they will not lie to them. Contrast that to the behavior of parents who assume that it's acceptable to lie to kids because they are kids ! Some even play tricks with them - like replacing tooth with a coin under the pillow while they are asleep  - enforcing false belief in them. How wrong would it be, if someone (other than your kid) trusted you with the same level of trust and you deceived them? Your kids have more right that you be truthful to them. It is important for a Muslim to be truthful, as it is the essence of all goodness. If we are not truthful with even our own kids then how can we be truthful to others? If we deceive when there is little or no gain from it, then how will we...
